Imagine a scent that's not just a perfume, but a signature of your very own skin. In 2023, nu de parfum was founded just to do that! Every one of us has a unique aroma, a scent that's often lost amidst the overpowering fragrances of today. We decided to change that. We are creating skin scents that are as subtle as they are intimate, designed to blend seamlessly with your individual skin. These perfumes don't overpower; they harmonize. A perfume that feels genuinely yours.

Transparency through traceability - ingredients

The safety of our raw materials

All the raw materials used in our products have been evaluated for safety and comply with the international legislation applicable to Fragrances & Cosmetics.

Ingredients we stand by

Raw materials are the source of inspiration to make skin like scents. However, with natural resources being limited, we craft fragrances using high-quality alternatives to protect at-risk ingredients. Thanks to innovative techniques, we can now replace rare elements like vanilla, or ingredients with a high environmental impact such as Sandalwood, with sophisticated synthetic notes, preserving nature while delivering exceptional scents.

Ingredients of animal origin

At nu de parfum, we adhere to a strict principle: our formulas contain no raw materials of animal origin. Traditional fragrance ingredients derived from animals are replaced with synthetic alternatives that replicate the same olfactory experience, ensuring no animal sources are used.

Animal testing

In accordance with regulations, at nu de parfum, none of our products or the ingredients used in our cosmetics are tested on animals

Natural and synthetic fragrance ingredients

At nu de Parfum, we believe in crafting fragrances that combine the best of nature with the innovations of science. Our blends feature both natural and synthetic ingredients, carefully chosen to protect precious natural resources while delivering exquisite scents.

Synthetics allow us to avoid animal-derived components and reduce environmental impact. For example, it takes thousands of rose petals to produce just a few drops of rose oil, and harvesting sandalwood requires the felling of mature trees. Instead, we use sustainable alternatives like Bacdanol, which beautifully captures the essence of sandalwood.

Wherever it’s responsible and sustainable, we embrace natural ingredients. When synthetics are used, it's because they provide unmatched safety, purity, and creative possibilities, unlocking unique notes that nature alone cannot provide. The result? Inspired, sophisticated fragrances that honor both craftsmanship and the planet.

Alcohol/Alcohol Denat.

Alcohol is used to dissolve the fragrance concentrate and ensure it evaporates, allowing the scent to diffuse beautifully.

Water/Aqua

Water helps dilute the alcohol and fragrance concentrate, creating a balanced blend. We use distilled water from a pharmaceutical company to ensure the highest level of purity.

Allergens

Allergens are naturally present in fragrance materials. As with any product applied to the skin, some ingredients in our fragrances may cause reactions for sensitive individuals. If you have sensitive skin or concerns about allergens, we always encourage you to review our ingredient lists carefully, which is disclosed on every product and on the nu de parfum website.

Transparency through traceability - packaging

General

The packaging of a fragrance is comprised of numerous components, which must meet performance and safety requirements.

Boxes and sample card

Our boxes are FSC cardboard made of recycled plant fibres, produced by StyleMathôt in the Netherlands.

StyleMathôt strives for the most sustainable printing process possible. That's why they use bio-based inks, FSC-certified paper, and standardized sizes to produce less cutting waste. Their sustainability policy has earned us several environmental certifications:

ISO 14001 (milieu)
ISO 12647-2 (kwaliteit)
ARBO RI&E
FSC-papier
Klimaatneutraal drukwerk
FSSC 22000

Bottle

Our bottles for the full sizes, but also for the travel and samples sizes are mady of glass by a confidential supplier.

Cap

The cap of the full size is made of PP. We are looking into changing this. The caps/sprayers of the travel and sample size are made out of aluminum.

Etiket

Our front labels for the full size bottle are made out of premium plantbased fibre paper. The etiket on the bottom of the bottle is made out of transparant PP. Both are produced by Pixart Printing in Italy.

Shipping box

For our shipping boxes, we use the brown variants because they are made from FSC®-certified cardboard, specifically FSC® Mix 70% from Paco Verpakkingen, based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. They are FSC® certified under the number SCS-COC-000652-ALR. These are single-wall corrugated cardboard boxes that can be recycled.

Transparency through traceability - Production

Production site

SOEST, The Netherlands

Since the launch of nu de parfum, our fragrances have been produced in Soest (Utrecht). All stages of the production take place here: from receiving packaging elements and raw materials, to creating fragrances, to packaging and shipping the final product.

Production follows the ISO 22716 standards.

Our office and mailing address is located in Amsterdam.

Transparency through traceability - Transport

Transport partners

We ship our products via PostNL and DHL. At present, we sell to the Netherlands, Belgium, France, and Germany. Currently, we rely solely on road transport, which produces less CO2 than air transport. As we expand, we will continue to prioritize road transport and maritime shipping whenever possible.
